The supreme objective of life is living a full and satisfying future and the main key to ensuring that is education. As it is often said that education is the key to life and it is also power. In the bid to make it easier for all the young people in school, the US government initiated the career clusters framework, to help in guiding and nurturing all the young scholars in school to finding and choosing the best career paths for a sustainable future. This framework has helped thousands of young undergraduates to attain their dreams in the different career fields since the late 1990s.

What is a career cluster?

A career cluster in a simplest term is a set of career choices and categories that offer different fields of work. If you have the desire to pursue a career, it will be a bold thing to know what career cluster is all about. These clusters, were made by the US governments education department to help young undergraduates attain and select a career of their choice, in short these cluster helps in shaping and structuring as well as restructuring their plans.

Career clusters in the country, offer 16 different categories in the career fields. The clusters help in defining the lucrative pathways and needs one can really go into. There are about 79 pathways that could help one in attaining the goals they need in life, and set the standards for guiding all undergraduates in high school or college, to have the opportunity to attain the career goals, regardless of their interests.

Career clusters provide for the need to understand and make the bid to attaining the technical and academic goals required in the specific career fields that one chooses to follow. By this, it sets the standards, requirements, grades and special technical knowledge that one will have to undertake, so as to be proficient in the field. While at the same time, it offers the career development needs for the undergraduate to understand and get mentored so as to be able to handle the career choice they have made. The existence of career clusters simplifies and assists both the scholars and their educators in the ongoing changes that come up ever so often in the different career worlds and thus ensuring, that they understand and make the best pursuance in the fields.

It offers a chance to the scholars to know and experience the different areas of business and industry, so that they will get to know truly what they wish to go into. For some, careers may be a passion, while for others they may just want to venture into different fields, but irrespective of the case, the clusters offer them a feel and some basic knowledge on these industries and what they have to do to attain their life goals.
